How absolutely excellent and worthy of superlatives. Day #2 is down of the Moths workshop and things are rollicking along and I’m a bit overwhelmed by the depth of talent in the room – Gorkem’s directing with a steady hand, the design concepts are being dreamed up by Zoe Scoglio (video) and Rob Jordan (sound) and the actors are Aljin Abela, Jing-Xuan Chan, Hai Ha Le, Nicole Lee, Harry Tseng and Gareth Yuen. I’m feeling very chuffed! The showing is on Wednesday 6th.
Prior to the workshop, I was in Canberra for the weekend and commenced my stay by doing a trial of Talon Salon in Gentle Nails in Garema Place. Talon Salon is going up to Canberra for the You Are Here festival in March, so I had to get my head around how it’d run in a new site. Things went smoothly and I picked up a few things in the show that need to be edited and updated in time for March. But the salon owner was welcoming and found a very suitable spot for the Talon Salon display, conveniently with a pair of fire engine red chairs to complete our ‘set’. And, after I ‘worked’ – and it was on a 40 degree day – I was rewarded by catching up with three Canberra mates.
