New acronym – QPDA

It makes me think of a bank but the ‘QPDA’ (Queensland Premier’s Drama Award) is not a bank. Well, it sort of is, as they put money towards developing scripts. So my play Rice is getting a little bit more support in the Hunger Games style program that is the QPDA. Go Rice! Fifty one entries led to an undisclosed number of longlisted entries, which was then slashed to three plays, quivering, awaiting the next round of competition. So this is the long haul, where across a six-month (January to July, ok that’s more like seven months) development we improve our scripts in the ultimate effort to defeat the other two amazing entries and be crowned winner.
