Rice in the National Playwriting Festival 2015

I’m in Canberra at the moment, at The Street Theatre, with Tanya Dickson (director), Peter Matheson (dramaturge), Karla Conway (assistant dramaturge) and actors Annette Shun Wah and Gowrie Varma. We’re workshopping my play Rice, and doing a brain-bending tasks of creating more story for one of the central characters. I am breaking apart the play without, I hope, exploding it to unhelpful pieces. And it’s great news that Rice will get additional time in the workshop environment with a workshop and reading at this year’s National Playwriting Festival. A real honour to be programmed into this festival again.
